I've spent years listening to underground electronic music, and in that time, I've lost count of how many EPs I've bought and promptly forgotten about. But there's something about Do It Yourself or Die's Rave The World EP that's stuck with me long after the needle's clicked off. Maybe it's the DIY ethos that underpins their sound – a rejection of the polished, overly-produced EDM that dominates the mainstream.

The Rise of DIY Electronic Music

I've noticed a shift in the electronic music scene in recent years, with more and more artists opting to self-release their music rather than going through a traditional label. For some, it's a way to maintain creative control and avoid the compromises that often come with signing to a major label. For others, it's a necessity – a way to make ends meet in a industry that's increasingly hostile to newcomers. Whatever the reason, the result is a wealth of new music that's raw, unpolished, and often all the more compelling for it. And Rave The World EP is a perfect example of this trend – a collection of tracks that are both deeply personal and yet somehow universally relatable.

The thing that strikes me most about Rave The World EP is its sense of urgency. From the opening moments of the title track, it's clear that Do It Yourself or Die is a band that's not interested in messing around.
